Here are some informations about the coming '08 World Cup Final managed in the city of Madrid the December 13th and 14th.
The World Cup competition is organized since 1975, the first one took place in London (England), the 2008 one is managed in Madrid and will be the last one. Modifications in the International gymnastics calendar and the coming new system of qualifications for Worlds and Olympic Games sound to be one of the explanations.
The 2006 final was managed in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.
The first champion of this prestigious event was the Soviet star Touricheva. Who will be the winners of this new and last edition?
The competitions will take place the December 13 and 14th.
First day includes the Floor, Pommel horse, Rings for MAG finals and Vault, Uneven Bars for the WAG finals.
Second day displays the following MAG finals: Vault, Parallel Bars and the very fascinating Horizontal bar event. The WAG finals are Balance Beam and Floor.
Injuries and retirements pulled out of this event various well known competitors, the Olympics season was long and hard. Despite this fact, the coming announced gymnasts are going to give us a real grand moment of gymnastics!
Cheng Fei, Jiang Yuyan (China), Izbasa (Romania), Harmes (The Netherlands), Hypolito (Brazil), Zamolodchikova (Russia) will compete for the Floor final. For sure, the competition between Cheng Fei, Jiang Yuyuan and the Floor Olympic champion focuses the regards, as wall as the Uneven Bars final with the three specialists from China: He Kexin, Yang Yilin and still the talented Jiang Yuyan, Anastasia Koval for Ukraine competed at the European Championships Bars event final.
Cheng Fei competes for three finals (Vault, Balance Beam and Floor), Sandra Izbasa for two (Beam and Floor), Zamolodchikova for two (Vault and Floor), Jiang Yuyuan for two (Bars and Floor) as well as Darya Zgoba with Bars and Beam.
China is coming with her top gymnasts... 5 elite champions named Cheng Fei, He Kexin, Jiang Yuyuan, Yang Yilin and Li Shanshan! New successes to come from China to end this brilliant and wonderful China gymnastics year?
For the men events, we notice the name of the super star from Japan, Hiroyuki Tomita, but also the rising French gymnasts Yann Cucherat, Thomas Bouhail, Rafael Wignanitz. Jeffrey Wammes, Van Gelder and Epke Zonderland (all three from the Netherlands), the Bulgarian Jovtchev, Manuel Carballo from Spain, Daniel Keatings and Louis Smith from Great-Britain. Philippe Rizzo from Australia and Igor Cassina (Italy) are coming as challengers. Konstantin Pluzhnikov and Anton Golotsutskov are the Russian competitors.
