From Russia: Ksenia Afanaseva. (part 1).
Ksenia Afanaseva (Afanasyeva) is born the September 13th of 1991. Coming from the city of Tula, she is a childhood friend of Ksenia Semenova. Marina Nazarova and Nabokova are her coaches.
She is becoming a steady member of the Russian team.
At the Olympics, she got the following notations: 14.825 on Bars, 15.775 pts on Beam, 15.025 pts on Floor, a whole total of 60.800 pts for the AA qualification table and then 14.825 pts for the Beam final.
At the Nationals held in March 2009, Ksenia displayed quite ok routines, she got the following notes in event-finals: 14.700 pts on Bars, 14.950 pts on Beam and a 13.850 pts. Knowing, she could not train for a quite long time due to an injury (who pulled her out of the December World Cup final), it's a good performance. Ksenia will represent Russia at the coming Europeans held in Italy, with teammates Yulia Berger, Ksenya Semyonova, Kristina Goryunova.

Junior European Championships: 1st by Team.
Russian Cup: 1st on Beam, 3rd on Floor.
French International: 1st on Beam and 3rd on Floor.
Moscow World Cup (May 29/30): 7th on Vault, 2nd on Floor.
Russian Cup (Moscow, July 2/5): 1st AA, 2nd on Vault, 4th on Bars, 6th on Beam and 4th on Floor.
Beijing Olympic Games (August): 3rd Team qualification and 4th Team final, 6th of the AA qualification, 7th on Beam.
Swiss Cup: 3rd with Russian Maxim Deviatovski.
Russian Nationals (Bryansk, March 10/13): 1st of the qualification round, 6th AA, 3rd on Bars and 2nd on Beam.
